About us

We are Bnieuws, the independent, student-run platform and monthly periodical for the whole Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment of TU Delft. As a student run platform funded by the faculty, we aim to represent the diverse written output, ideation, and dialogue within and at the faculty. As such, within our thematic publications, our contributions are critical and explorative, with texts and images relating often to our own faculty but at all times to some aspect of the built environment; be it landscape, architecture, or urbanism.

We believe ourselves to be the voice of the faculty, and our motto is ‘Your voice is our voice’. In order to accomplish this we collaborate closely with other student associations within the faculty, such as BouT, Polis, and also The Berlage among others. We also however have an open list of independent guest writers, or Penpals, which includes students, staff members and alumni of the faculty. It is these students, staff, and associations for whom we do our best to ensure that their research, knowledge, and ideas can be disseminated throughout the faculty, and now with this website, throughout the world at large!

I’m an architecture student from Italy. I have been, since my teenage years, very much curious about the city. I subdivide this obsession between films (set in the city) and Google Earth. I’m very fond of the city of London, where I was lucky to live and study. I enjoy writing, especially about images, to me the key to understanding the bizarreness of our environment. I value sense of humor above everything, although mine is not very good.

Hi, my name is Inez. I'm an architecture student. At the moment, I'm an intern at MECANOO in Delft and will continue my masters in February next year. As a passion outside of architecture, you can find me playing records or exploring the city as a new citizen of Rotterdam. During my architecture studies, I have developed writing as a new hobby. Just to know, writing wasn't always my favourite thing to do...!

And for you, readers, I'm always curious and open for discussion on my articles!

Hey, I'm Jonas, I'm Dutch, but I'm very fortunate to have lived abroad for much of my life. I've always enjoyed expressing my thoughts creatively, be that through design, music or writing. I try to enjoy the small things; the nitty gritty details that just make sense, the little victories you have throughout a project when a bunch of complicated things come together. I also love coffee and taking pictures. If you see me, say hello!

Hi, I am a Master student from Poland, but I completed my undergarduate studies in the UK. I started my time at Delft as an Architecture student, but changed my path to Urbanism to do what I truly enjoy. I am passionate about politics, languages, films and different places in the world. Languages amongst other things give us our identity, and I am currently learning Portugese as my fourth language, and occasionally try out a good old Dutch alstublieft.

Hi, my name is Robert, 24 years old and since some time part of this wonderful magazine. I'm a busy bee, so to say, and I like to fill my time with a multitude of things, from cooking to playing music, bouldering to mountainbiking. Writing has always been a great tool for me to express my thoughts. Sharing this with other people is a different ball-game, but a lot of fun.

Hi y’all, I’m Tuyen (Twin) and I’m Vietnamese. I finished my bachelor in the US and now I’m here, studying and riding my bike around Delft. A passion I have outside of architecture are pottery (love getting my hands dirty) and graphic design (quirky visuals is my vibe). Since I’m a curious and person, sometimes speaking about things alone is not enough, so I seek out writing to express my thoughts. I hope our issues will engage you in more exploration in life, design, and art. Catch me outside and inside the pages of Bnieuws!
