FAQ

What is Bnieuws?

Bnieuws is an independent, student run periodical of the Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment of TU Delft. We publish editions in hardcopy and on this website every other month. For more information see our about page!

Who is behind Bnieuws?

The editorial board is a collection of passionate students of the faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment of TU Delft. The editorial team is always changing; get to know us a little better on the about page!

How often do new editions of Bnieuws come out?

Bnieuws is a monthly periodical, which means that we publish an edition once a month. Per annum we publish ten editions, some of which are categorised as ‘specials’ which are a smaller format, pamphlet style publication often focussed more on images or a very specific theme, always entirely consisting of student and staff contributions outside of the editorial board.

Can I write for or collaborate with Bnieuws?

Yes certainly! We are always looking for interesting thoughts and fresh perspectives to bring to the discussion of the built environment. If you aren’t much of a writer we also welcome illustrated submissions, photo essays, or even artwork for the cover of coming editions! Feel free to contact us for more information.

How do I submit a contribution to Bnieuws?

Sign up as a penpal! That way you will join our mailing list of guest writers and other contributors which will once a month inform you clearly about the thematic requirements and other technical requirements (such as word count per article) of the coming edition.

Once I’ve become a penpal, then what?

Once you’ve signed up as a penpal, we will send an email to you informing you of the thematic requirements of the next months’ editions, as well as any other necessary information. Before you pour your heart and soul into a new linguistic masterpiece please send us an email back letting us know what you aim to write, and the expected word count and number of images; this way we avoid receiving too many contributions for a particular edition. Once we’ve greenlighted your submission proposal you can begin creating! Once you’ve finished your work you can send it back to us by the given deadline, so that we can edit your work and put it into a layout. We will send the edited version of your work back to you for your approval one last time and if all parties are happy then your work will be published in the next Bnieuws publication! Exciting, no?

How can I join the editorial board?

Our editorial board consists exclusively of students of the Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment of TU Delft. If you are such a student then we would be happy to receive a motivation letter, a sample of your written work (in English), and curriculum vitae to our email, which you can find here. If and when we have an open position we will then begin interviewing all candidates.
